Fourteen years as an endurance athlete and competitive cyclist have given Dr. Rich a special interest and motivation to focus his efforts on interventional pain and orthopedics.Upon completion of medical school, he completed a family practice residency concentrated on sports medicine. During his time as a resident, he covered various levels of sports, including professional hockey as well as all sports at two different Division I colleges in Louisiana. Dr. Rich completed his sports medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma Tulsa where he still serves as a clinical assistant instructor for the sports medicine department teaching musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostics and procedures. It was in fellowship that Dr. Rich changed his focus to interventional pain.Dr. Rich uses his previous sports medicine experience as he approaches patients while practicing interventional pain. His primary goal is to help you achieve the highest level of function possible, just as he did when treating athletes.
He is an active member of all major interventional pain societies, as well as neuromodulation societies. He is skilled in fluoroscopic guided procedures and musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided procedures, being one of the few doctors in Oklahoma proficient and certified in both.
